GMAT

Graduate Management Admission Test or GMAT is a computer adaptive test in which the difficulty level of the next question is based on the accuracy of the answer to the previous question. It is created by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). In GMAT, the candidates are assessed on analytical, quantitative, writing, verbal and reading skills. GMAT is required if the candidate is looking forward to study in the field of management such as MBA, Masters in Finance and Masters in Accountancy related programs.

In GMAT computer adaptive test (CAT), it is important to have a clear understanding as to how the CAT works and what strategies you must follow to attain a good score. One must know that the difficulty level of the test does not start with easy questions first. GMAT is an adaptive test and thus, you may or may not get questions of medium difficulty.

Purpose of Examination
GMAT test is used to asses and compare the candidate’s credentials in a wide range of backgrounds. The exam covers measuring various reasoning, verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills.

GMAT Test Format
The GMAT is 3 hours, 30 minutes (four hours with breaks) long. The Analytical Writing Assessment includes one Argument Essay to be written in 30 mins. Immediately after the essay question, the Integrated Reasoning section starts which is to be completed in 30 mins. Test takers now have the option to take a break which is followed by the Quantitative and Verbal Sections.
